ABOUT THE AUTHOR

If you've read the "About the Author" sections in the earlier volumes, you already know they aren't exactly traditional. Think of this more as a casual author's note—a bit of personal insight rather than a formal biography.

So, what can I add about myself?

I was born in Montreal, Canada, and over the years, I've been fortunate enough to call several corners of the world home. I've lived in Guangdong Province, China; spent time in Tennessee, USA, and Paris, France; and now reside in Toronto, Canada. Traveling has shaped not only my worldview but also the way I tell stories.

I discovered a love for reading at 12, and later shared it with my family of bookworms. After a fulfilling retirement, I embraced writing in 2024 — completing The Jar and the Rod: four novels and a companion novella, with the support and feedback of loved ones. The journey continues with my new series, The League of Four.

Discover My Story

I'm an avid reader—it's how I explore the world when I can't physically be on the move. What I love most about reading is being surprised: the twist I didn't see coming, the character who defies expectation, the ending that lingers. I read across just about every genre, from Salman Rushdie to Nicholas Sparks, Dean Koontz to David Baldacci, and Brandon Sanderson to... well, you name it. I probably enjoy it. (If I left out a genre, feel free to ask—I might just be reading it next.)

When it came to writing my own novel, I realized something: I hadn't come across many books quite like the one I was trying to write. At least not often. One that comes close—one that left an impression—is The Book of Longings by Sue Monk Kidd.

So the four-novel series The Jar and the Rod, with its companion novella Who is Anonymous?, is my humble addition to that space: a story I wanted to tell because I couldn't find it anywhere else. The series is now complete, and the journey continues in my next series, The League of Four.

I hope it surprises you in the best possible way.
